The California Department of Education does not have the authority or resources to collect and/or store transcripts or records for students in California public or private schools.
To obtain a transcript from a California public school, an individual must contact the school directly. If the school is closed, we suggest contacting the local school district or the county office of education for assistance.
To obtain a transcript from a California private school, an individual must contact the school or one of its officers directly. If the school is closed, the custodian of records is responsible for student records. If you are unable to locate the custodian contact information on the Private School Web page you can contact our Private Schools Office, at 916-319-0839 or by e-mail at privateschools@cde.ca.gov. Provide the school name, address, county of location, and year(s) of attendance at the school.
To obtain a transcript from a private or vocational college, please contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs, at 800-952-5210.
To obtain a transcript from the California Youth Authority, an individual must contact the school directly. If the school is closed, you can contact the California Youth Authority Education Services, at 916-262-1500.
