Industrial & Technology Education

Programs that provide students with insight into and an understanding of the technological nature of our culture.

Industrial and Technology Education (ITE) prepares kindergarten-through-university students for successful transition to the workforce and participation in the home, community, and post-secondary education. Students in ITE programs today are mastering curricula featuring basic scientific principles, mathematical concepts, and communication skills in the career pathways of building trades and construction technology, engineering and design technology, manufacturing and product development technology, transportation technology, and energy and utilities technology.

  1. California Industrial and Technology Education Consortium (CITEC) (Outside Source)
    A project funded and supervised by the California Department of Education. CITEC develops and provides statewide services and resources for industrial and technology education (ITE) in northern, central and southern California. Through collaboration with ITE professional associations and other organizations, CITEC provides dynamic, ongoing programs for professional and leadership development.
  2. California Industrial and Technology Education Association (Outside Source)
    Umbrella organization for industrial and technology education educators and workforce partners in California. Links to subject matter professional organizations including: Exploring Technology Teachers Association, California Drafting Technology Consortium, Manufacturing Technology Teachers Association, California Graphic Arts Association, California Council of Electronics Instructors, and other association links.

    Consortium provides career awareness materials, educator/employer partnership training, curriculum integration training, resources for workplace learning, workshops and conferences.

    Information to link what students learn in school with the knowledge and skills they need for success in college and careers.
  5. Automotive Youth Educational System
    Partnership between automotive manufacturers, automotive dealers, and local high schools/Regional Occupational Centers and Programs that prepares young people for challenging, well-paid careers in automotive service.
