Charter Schools

Information to assist school districts and charter schools in seeking state facility funding assistance under AB 14 (Chapter 935, statutes of 2002), which defines the manner of funds available.

School Facility Program Approved Regulations (Outside Source)
The Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 established a state program to provide funding for new construction and modernization of existing school facilities. The regulations provide guidance for accessing state bond funds (including those specifically allocated for construction of charter schools) approved by the voters.

Division of the State Architect (Outside Source)
Information regarding the design of buildings and oversight of school construction, including the codes and standards that affect the industry. A listing of Division of the State Architect certified project inspectors is included.

Information regarding the legislatively mandated process for evaluating the effects of potential environmental hazards on a prospective school site and overseeing clean-up to ensure a safe and uncontaminated site.

The Education Code sections that relate to the establishment of a program to allocate funding for the purpose of providing school facilities for charter school pupils.

From the report page at the "Selected School Type," pull down menu, select "Charter," Select the Year, Choose the sort order for the report, Select "Enrollment by Grade," Click "Submit").

NOTE: The information is current as of the date cited at the top of the DataQuest page.

The reported enrollment is the total enrollment for each school and may contain a combination of "Classroom Based Instruction," "Non-classroom Based Instruction," and Independent Study" enrollments. (See Education Code Section 47612.5(d)(1).)
