The California Career Resource Network (CalCRN) (Outside Source), also known as the California Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, is California's primary state agency resource for career guidance and planning information to assist youth and adult career seekers. The mission of CalCRN is to provide youth and adults with the career information and resources that enable them to reach their career goals.
CalCRN uses Carl D. Perkins funding to provide students, parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and counselors, with information and planning resources that relate educational preparation to career goals. Further, CalCRN equips teachers, administrators, and counselors with the knowledge and skills needed to assist students and parents/guardians with career exploration, educational opportunities, and education financing.
Housed at the California Department of Education, CalCRN works through an interagency network to assist state agencies in tailoring career-related educational resources and training and to improve coordination and communication among state-level administrators and planners.
