Local educational agency (LEA) Plans and Plan Addenda for 53 of the 97 Program Improvement LEAs in Corrective Action will be reviewed by a trained group of reviewers on July 21-23, 2008.
If you wish to observe the review, please submit your name by July 21, 2008 to Kathleen Pettibone at kpettibone@cde.ca.gov and include your name, organization, e-mail address, and phone number. Participation is subject to available space. There is no state budget to support the costs of time or travel so observers will need to make their own arrangements.
Following the July review of LEA Plans, California Department of Education (CDE) will contact any LEAs which need to revise their plans. The CDE will report to the State Board of Education (SBE) at its September 2008 meeting on the review of plans.
At the November SBE meeting, the CDE will report on the local posting of plans and identification of a hyper-link where plans can be publicly accessed from the CDE Web site.
