Charter Package for State Board of Education Numbering
Listed below are the items to be submitted when applying for a charter school number.
- Request for Charter School Number (XLS; 35KB; 1p.)
- Original charter petition and one compact disc of the
following:
- Complete charter, which includes all 16 elements of Education Code Section 47605(b)(5) (Outside Source); and statements that the charter school will be nonsectarian, will not charge tuition, and will not discriminate
- Signed petition and signature pages (not necessary on disc)
- Evidence of governing board public hearing (e.g., board minutes)
- Evidence of governing board approval of charter (e.g., board minutes)
- Any information provided to the authorizing entity pursuant to Education Code Section 47605(g) (Outside Source), including (a) potential effects on the district (administrative services, facilities, liability); and (b) first year start-up costs, cash flow, and three year financial projections
- Form TSD-01 Application for County-District-School (CDS) Code
Incomplete packages cannot be forwarded to the State Board of Education for numbering.
