About CDE Press
CDE Press provides a full range of creative multimedia services to produce and publish the CDE’s world-class resources for educators, parents, and educational entities. Having served as the Department’s publishing arm for over 40 years, the Press extends its reach to every state in the nation as well as to more than 40 other countries. CDE Press publishes and distributes more educational resources—resources essential to the educational needs of children—than any other state department in the nation.
Press staff members provide such services and materials as writing and editing; layout and design; sales and distribution; and the annual California Public School Directory. The Press, which has received numerous state and national awards for excellence in publishing, also provides services to other state agencies. It is the largest entity of its type in California state government.
