The recommended titles reflect the quality and the complexity of the types of materials students should be reading at school and outside of class.
The History-Social Science literature list was the first literature list to be a part of the current literature list review. The discipline areas of visual and performing arts, foreign language, physical education, and health were added at a later date. The first literature list committee meeting was be held in October 2007, with two other meetings held in February and May 2008. We anticipate that the final online database for all of the aforementioned disciplines will be posted on the California Department of Education’s Web site in late 2008 or early 2009. The final database will be linked from each of the subject area pages for ease of use.
The online database is currently closed and we are no longer accepting books for the committee to review.
