UC President Robert Dynes' Plan To Step Down

SACRAMENTO — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell today issued the following statement following University of California President Robert Dynes announcement that he plans to step down from the position of UC President:

"President Dynes has served ably as President of the University of California, one of the world's premier higher education institutions. I commend President Dynes for his service to students and faculty and for his leadership during his tenure. I also deeply appreciate his commitment and support in working collaboratively with me and California's K-12 education system on a variety of initiatives to improve the alignment between these two, critically important public educational segments. I wish him the best when he transitions out of the Office of the President and look forward to continuing to work with the University of California on ways we can continue to improve our service to students in our public education system."
