This Management Bulletin provides information regarding the new rapid alert food safety notification system offered by the California Department of Health Services (DHS), Food and Drug Branch. The Food Safety Notification System is available free-of-charge to individuals interested in food safety and food production.
This rapid alert system allows interested parties to receive emergency food recall notification as soon as it becomes available. Urgent food safety messages, such as recalls of contaminated foods, can be broadcast in five different multi-media formats:
- fax,
- e-mail,
- palm pilot,
- automated voice mail,
- or pager.
