Attendance

Submit charter school attendance data via the 2007-08 Principal Apportionment Revenue Software, versions 2007-7.00, 2007-7.01, or 2007-7.02.

Note: This data will also be used for the purposes of calculating lottery funding.

First Principal Apportionment, February 2009

Corrections to be applied at the 2008-09 P-1 Apportionment

Item Description Due Date
Corrections Submit charter school attendance corrections for fiscal years prior to 2002-03 via the appropriate "J" form for that fiscal year. October 1, 2008
Corrections Submit charter school attendance corrections for all other fiscal years via the appropriate software for that year. Corrections made via the software must be submitted in the "corrected" mode for the appropriate period. October 1, 2008

Note: Corrections for years prior to 2007-08 must be supported by an auditor letter of concurrence. Additionally, CDE's authority to spend funds appropriated in the budget act expires after three years. Thus, any increases to claims for programs funded through budget acts prior to the Budget Act of 2006 (fiscal year 2006-07) may not be funded.

New Charter First 20 Day Actual Attendance Documents for Fiscal Year 2008-09

20 Day Certification Submit Newly Operational Charter School 20 Day Attendance data via certified "Newly Operational Charter School 20 Day Actual Attendance" form. Charter school shall report its actual average daily attendance (ADA) for that first month not later than five business days following the end of the first 20 school days. October 2008

New Grade Level Expansion First 20 Day Actual Attendance Documents for Fiscal Year 2008-09

20 Day Certification Submit New Grade Level Expansion Charter School 20 Day Attendance data via certified "New Grade Level Expansion Charter School 20 Day Actual Attendance" form. Charter school shall report its actual ADA for that first month not later than five business days following the end of the first 20 school days. October 2008

Attendance Submit charter school attendance data via the new 2008-09 Principal Apportionment Revenue Software (2008 version to be release prior to P-1). January 15, 2009
Economic Impact Aid (EIA) Funding Data Collection

Submit charter school EIA data via the new 2008-09 Principal Apportionment Revenue Software (2008 version to be released prior to P-1) as follows:

  1. Continuing charters - Economically disadvantaged pupils who are between the ages of 5-17, as of October 2008, whose annual family income is at or below the federal poverty level. Note: This count is reported at P-1 only and may not be revised. It will be used to determine 2009-2010 fiscal year EIA funding.

    Newly operational charters - Economically disadvantaged pupils who are between the ages of 5-17, as of October 2008, whose annual family income is at or below the federal poverty level. Note: This count is reported at P-1 only and may not be revised. It will be used to determine 2008-09 and 2009-10 fiscal year EIA funding.
  2. English learners pupils count (applicable only to newly operational charters).
  3. Pupil enrollment count (applicable to newly operational charters).

Second Principal Apportionment, July 2009

Corrections to be applied at the 2008-09 Second Principal (P-2) Apportionment

Corrections Submit charter school attendance corrections for all other fiscal years via the appropriate software for that year. Corrections made via the Principal Apportionment Revenue Software must be submitted in the "corrected" mode for the appropriate period. March 16, 2009
