CALPADS Joint Application Design Sessions in June

The development of the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) is underway. The CALPADS project team, consisting of members of CDE and the California School Information Services (CSIS), has been working with a project team from IBM through the project start up and gap analysis activities. We have entered the initial design phase of the project, which requires reviewing and developing several important high-level processes that will affect the eventual implementation and operation of CALPADS.

Through our design work, IBM has developed the key LEA-related CALPADS system processes and interfaces. We would like to review these initial design concepts with interested and available LEAs for input. Towards that end, the CDE is holding three regional Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions in Fresno, Sacramento, and Placentia. The primary purpose of the JAD session is to provide LEAs with a high-level overview of the CALPADS system design and processes and to obtain LEA feedback on the development of the system thus far. Each regional meeting will be two days in length due to the amount of material that must be covered, and will cover the same material.

The dates, times, and locations of the three regional JAD sessions are:

Fresno County Office of Education

Day 1: Monday (6/2/08) from 10:00 to 4:00
Day 2: Tuesday (6/3/08) from 9:00 to 4:00

  • SSID/Enrollment
  • Data Collection
  • Reporting
  • Pre-ID and Assessments

If an LEA would like to attend one of these sessions, please RSVP to CALPADS@cde.ca.gov. Seating is limited and all requests to attend may not be accommodated. If space is available, a confirmation e-mail will be sent. Please send notification to CALPADS@cde.ca.gov to cancel a reservation. If you cannot attend these sessions, the CDE will continue to provide information about the project on the CALPADS Update Web page.

Questions regarding the JAD sessions may be forwarded to the CALPADS account at CALPADS@cde.ca.gov.
