Dear Publishers of Science Instructional Materials for Kindergarten Through Grade Eight:
Publishers and producers of instructional materials in science are invited to attend a meeting on January 10, 2006, to review the requirements to participate in the 2006 Science Primary Adoption of Instructional Materials for California, kindergarten through grade eight.
Representatives of the publishing company should include those responsible for (1) meeting the instructional materials adoption requirements and timelines; (2) producing the submission CD-ROM; (3) completing the standards maps; and (4) editing and writing the program. California representatives and bids and contracts representatives of the publisher are also encouraged to attend.

The Publishers Invitation to Submit: 2006 Science Primary Adoption (ITS) document will be distributed at this meeting. We will also be reviewing instructions for the submission CD-ROM. A tentative agenda for the meeting is enclosed.
Please fill out and return the attached form by December 15, 2005, indicating the number of people who will be attending. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to receive a copy of the ITS and the submission CD-ROM, you may request a copy of these items by using the same form.
The ITS will also be available on our Web site at Instructional Materials on or after January 10, 2006. For your information, we have enclosed the Schedule of Significant Events for the Science Primary Adoption.
