Dear Publishers of Reading/Language Arts–English-Language Development Materials For Kindergarten Through Grade Eight:
On page 22 of the Reading/Language Arts–English- Language Development Primary Adoption Publishers Invitation to Submit, it is stated that “Up to 80 sets of instructional materials may be required to be distributed, but they may not all be requested initially.” So far, you have provided copies to the California Department of Education (CDE), The Learning Resource Display Centers (LRDCs), the Content Review Panel (CRP) and Instructional Materials Advisory Panel (IMAP) Members.
In Publisher Bulletin 2008-11 (Basic Programs), and Publisher Bulletin 2008-12 (Intervention Programs), we indicated we would be surveying Curriculum Development and Instructional Materials Commissioners (Curriculum Commissioners)/facilitators regarding the receipt of instructional materials and we would provide that information to you after the May 12th delivery of Intervention materials. We have completed the survey of Commissioner/facilitators and are attaching the results, including shipping addresses and contact numbers for each Commissioner/facilitator (Attachment 1).
Please note, some of the Commissioner/facilitators will be going to an LRDC in order to review materials, and may choose not to request the receipt of materials at their home or work place.
Please follow the same guidelines for shipping materials to the Commissioner/facilitators as indicated in Publisher Bulletin 2008-11 and Publisher Bulletin 2008-12. Both of these bulletins are posted online at the
California Department of Education Web site http://www.cde.ca.gov/. Programs should be shipped without signature required. Please ship the materials by June 7, 2008.
