Primary Adoption of Instructional Materials

SUBJECT: Publishers Invitation to Submit: 2005 History-Social
Science Primary Adoption, Kindergarten through Grade Eight
Publishers/producers of instructional materials in history-social
science are invited to attend a meeting on January 11, 2005, to
review the requirements to participate in the 2005 history-social
science primary adoption of instructional materials for California,
kindergarten through grade eight.
We encourage participation in this meeting by representatives responsible
for meeting the instructional materials adoption requirements and
timelines and for producing the submission diskette. California
representatives and bids and contracts representatives of the publisher
are also encouraged to attend.

It will be a full day agenda, with a scheduled lunch break.
The Publishers Invitation to Submit: 2005 History-Social Science
Primary Adoption will be distributed at this meeting. We will
also be reviewing instructions for the submission diskette. Please
fill out and return the attached form by December 22, 2004, indicating
the number of people that will be attending. If you are unable to
attend the meeting and would like to receive a copy of the Invitation
and the submission diskette you may request a copy of these items
using the same form.
The Invitation will also be available on our Web site at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/hs/im/
on or after January 11, 2005. For your information, we have attached
the Schedule of Significant Events for the History-Social Science
Primary Adoption.
